39/40 is roughly a womens US 7-8, 41/42 is roughly a womens US 9-10, and 43/44 is roughly a womens US 10-11.
My mom wears a womens US 7 and wears the 39/40. Mady wears a womens US 8 & I wear a womens US 9 and we both wear the 41/42 comfortably.
